Bare and WNEP Theater open their first co-production, Actual Theatre, on Friday, June 1 at the WNEP Theater, 3209 N. Halsted St., for a five week run on Fridays in June through June 29 at 10:30 pm, with a preview show Friday, May 25 at 10:30 pm. Reservations are available by calling the WNEP Theater box office at (773) 755-1693.
Actual Theatre is an hour-long improvised piece exploring how the real relationship between two performers plays out in a variety of characters. Actual Theatre brings together two experienced improvisors and a director known for producing “tremendously brave theater” to produce a dramatic experience that strives to be both funny and emotionally honest.
Bare is Fuzzy Gerdes and Shaun Himmerick. The two have working together for nearly a decade and in the last two years they taken Bare to performances in Chicago and across North America (e.g. New York, Toronto, Omaha). The Omaha Weekly called them “simply amazing to watch.” The director of the Columbia, SC Improv Festival called them “awesome!”
Don Hall is Executive Director of WNEP Theater and brings his years of improvising and directing experience to bear on Actual Theatre. His unique WNEP perspective spices the tight-knit collaboration of Bare.
