Brad Sherwood in Virginia
Richmond.com interviews Brad Sherwood (Drew Carey Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?) before a Virginia performance of An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood.
He acknowledges that "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" does have its cynics -- people who believe the comedy is staged, not spontaneous. "We absolutely don’t know what we are going to do," Sherwood said. "We take suggestions from the crowd. In one sense, when people say the show is not made up that it’s scripted, it’s a compliment. But it’s also an insult, saying you can’t be that good."

Brad Sherwood is my hero. I am always in awe of him on Whose Line, and I saw him live in Pittsburgh with Colin. He always makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts at least once per episode of Whose Line.

Okay, I was a cynic. I've been a fan of "Whose Line is it anyway," for some time and look forward to laughing hard while watching. But, I have had my doubts about it truly being an "improv" show. Most of my doubts are now laid to rest. I watched a live show with Brad and Colin Mochre in Hyannis, and unless they are awfully accomplished crystal ball readers, I now believe that they are truly improvisational comics. They are a delight and hilarious. Congratulations, Brand and Colin, on persuading a hard core cynic.
