9th Amsterdam International Improvisation Festival (January 18-25 2004)
Theatersport Vereniging Amsterdam (TVA) is organizing the 9th edition of the Amsterdam International Improvisation Festival. Previous festivals have displayed a vivid exchange of theatre improv experiences and ideas. Again, this year we would like to inspire our guests and we hope to be inspired by
their qualities.
The festival is scheduled for January 18-25 2004 and is currently open for registration (submission deadline: July 6, 2003).
About the festival: The festival will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and during the festival week performances will be held each night. Most shows are divided into two parts: before the break a theatresport match (Johnstone-style) will be played between two opposing teams. After the break one team will have the stage to itself. Most teams usually have an improv form in which they excel or which they most enjoy playing. We invite each participating team to demonstrate their specialty in the second part of the show. During the day, free workshops will be organized that can be attended by all visiting teams and TVA actors. We encourage each visiting team to host two of such workshops. Free accommodation will be provided for the participating teams at the private homes of TVA members, an extensive social programme will be organized and Amsterdam's nightlife never sleeps...For impressions of previous festivals, please check out the festival quotes on www.theatersport.nl/festival.
If you are interested in joining the festival or need additional information about the festival please contact us.
