Subject: Get our group on your site please!!!
Hi, I saw your site and wondered if you could add our group:
Name:The Improbables (Formerly Improzac... had to change because of legal reasons)
Members:8 Yianni Agisilaou, Lawrence Leung, Andrew McClelland, Adam McKenzie, Christina Adams, Melissa Aird, Nick Caddaye, Jessica Bush
Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Performance locations:Various, depends on what show we're doing and when
Contact Information: improzac@hotmail.com
The group has been around for just over 1 year and has performed 3 main shows.
The first, called Improzac, was a 1 hour show where we did various things each night (switched the scenes around according to what worked, etc.) Included things like Harolds, Sitcoms, Interactive Movies, Secrets (our own little creation), Backwards Scenes, etc.
The second show, in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, was called Channel Surfer and was themed on TV. Did scenes called Cutting Room Floor (i.e. get a movie from the audience then impro scene changes, alternate casting choices, scenes that didn't quite make it, etc) Pay TV (Genre Rollercoaster basically), backwards, sitcoms, and a movie running through the entire show (in bits, like Movie pt 1, backwards, Movie pt 2, Pay TV, etc.)
The third show, Saturday Nightcap, was done in a bar and included a band with which we improvised songs. Most of the material was similar to Channel Surfer except we also had a game called "The Punnel" (a take on an Australian TV show called the Panel where they discuss news/current affairs). We get a current affair from the audience, line up, then try to make puns, jokes, etc about it. If it is funny (judged by audience) person stays in, otherwise they are out. Like a die, but you have to be FUNNY!!
