Improv Kitchen

improvkitchen.gifThe Chicago Tribune reviews Improv Kitchen, a new restaurant that combines dining with improvised entertainment: A little sketchy? Improv Kitchen tries to balance comedy with cuisine

Here's the setup: Through the miracle of interactive television, improv-sketch artists located in an on-site studio serve as order takers via a flat-screen monitor. They then entertain you with televised schtick while you wait.

You get the feeling someone poured his or her heart and soul--and big bucks--into this small space, but Improv Kitchen's mix of technology, upscale cuisine and audience-participatory comedy just isn't in synch.
