Producer Megan here. The only quibble I have is that New City attributed the show to FuzzyCo and not the Directors Series. Since I've tried really hard to build the brand of the Series, it's little disappointing that good press is misdirected.

But I must say that I am overjoyed that the reviewer that came out, Nina Metz, really understood what she was seeing in Cinema 2.0. I absolutely adore it when the press "gets it" - and I'm equally happy that she had a good time.

The show is a lot of fun and that's because of Fuzzy and his excellent cast. Yay Cinema 2.0!

Boy, interesting how Dan Izzo gets cast in the Cinema 2.0 project, yet he has prior experience with the Directors Series w/ his direction of Terrorslide.

Hollywood sleeps with themselves again! :)

That being said, my alter ego would like to think this is a very good idea which could catch on so I'll see what I can do to help.

I have no friends in theater, no friends who know anything about theater, no English friends who spell it theatre, etc. But I will still see what I can do. :)

Actually, to quibble here -- Terrorslide was not a Directors Series show, it was a co-production between Mr. Fancypants and The Playground. Dan did indeed direct it, though.

Dan did direct a Series show which was called Free Mason Jar in the fall of 2001. He also directed Mr. Fancypants in Terrorslide which was one of the Playground's Comedy at Midnight shows. My quibble with Fuzzy's quibble is that Terrorslide was actually a Playground production that was created by and featured the talents Mr. Fancypants, not a co-production with the group.

The current Directors Series leader is actually Fuzzy, who has appeared in three productions (Day in the Life, 1000 Monkeys, Sybilization) and directed one (Cinema 2.0). Fuzzy only recently broke the tie held by him and Justin O'Connor, who has also appeared in three productions (Dinner for Six, Drive, It's Not Me... It's Me). Justin has since gone on to focus on acting in films around town.

Just a note to Newper, as I'm one of the folks that helps cast the shows - we take the group of improvisers that will best serve the director's idea for the show, who are not necessarily people we've worked with before. Dan's a talented guy - that's why we picked him. It has absolutely nothing to do with Dan and Fuzzy's torrid affairs.
