Local News: PSA from Thor

I'm trying out YouTube for hosting these little videos. Is this easier or harder for y'all than when I host the videos myself? To my eye, the quality is lower, but do you care?

Anyway, this is Thor Skørvald, the producer of The Local News, with a Public Service Announcement.

The quality is a tiny bit lower, yea. I notice it too. But this way I can run around Myspace or some shit and easy-embed it all over the place.

I'm having the same conundrum! Quality is definitely lower with YouTube, but it certainly is the most simple delivery device. Hopefully they'll introduce some better compression soon.

It's like if Flickr converted all of your photos to 256 color when you posted them.

Doof.

My solution is to have both the YouTube page for sharing, and the video podcast for the high quality versions. So when you post a video to YouTube, include a link to your podcast XML file, and post the file there as well.

Sincerely,
Steven Gadlin
