Hello!

Chicago's Ruth Buzzy have been slowly but surely turning heads in the indie rock scene since their inception in 1995, when guitarist and vocalist Phil Schuldt and drummer Matt Molenaar began the band as a duo. Bassist and vocalist Paul Kamp joined in 1997. Paul's brother Jim Kamp joined in the Spring of 2005 on guitar and vocals to assist in recording their third album. The band released it's first collection of music entitled Oh Yeah, That's Right! in 1998 on Chicago's No Record Company label. Ruth Buzzy's sophomore effort, entitled Mission Statement was released on Chicago's Veronica Records in 2003.[For reviews of these two releases please see the press section below] Currently the band is working on their third album which is scheduled to be released on Veronica Records in early 2006.

Ruth Buzzy's shows have brought them around the Midwest, including St. Louis, Nashville, Davenport, Grand Rapids and all the major college towns in Illinois. The band have also had the privilege to repeatedly grace the Chicago stages of the Metro, Double Door, Shubas, The Hideout, Fireside Bowl and Lounge Ax. In addition to full-on rock shows, there has been a recent spate of acoustic and low-volume shows for house concerts, cafes and bookstores.

Radio play of the band's music has landed them spins on Chicago's WXRT Local Anesthetic, and Q101's Local 101. Bloomington, Illinois' WESN 88.1 has been kind to us as well.
