Record Release Show for New Ruth Buzzy Disc, "Vultures & Doves"

hotti_show_nov_24_2007.jpg

Saturday, 11/24/2007 10:00 PM
Hotti Biscotti, 3545 W Fullerton, Chicago
3 bucks

Yo. Straight outta Logan Square, yo. Ruth Buzzy’s sensitive singer/songwriters will play all the hits from their new record, Vultures & Doves. Some solo, some together. We’re mixing this $h!+ up, yo! The record is done, you can hear it any time - get intimate with the songs themselves, man. (FYI - the record is AWESOME.)

For the occasion, old friend and deep-cut drum machine, Galen Gondolfi, will bring his brand new band, Birdleg, up from St. Louis, MO. To those who’ve never seen the man play drums: If you die now, your spirit will walk the earth, forever longing, forever unfulfilled. Don’t let that happen. Come to the show. If you care about a friend or loved one, bring them, too.

Prizes will be awarded to Most Punctual, Best Dressed, and Nicest Smile. Cake will be provided. V&D: Two years in the making, one night in the giving away. R.O.C.K.

Yours eternally,
 Buzz

Subterranean - May 31

Hey everybody!

Ruth Buzzy has been extended an invitation to play a show with our friends in
Overhang at Subterranean in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago (2011 W. North Ave).

The show is Thursday, May 31st and is for people 18 and older. Bill Tucker band 9:30pm, Ruth Buzzy 10:30pm and Overhang is on at 11:30pm. $8 cover.

Checkout our myspace page for something.

Hope to see you there. Maybe Phil will be in shorts. Maybe Jim will tell you why he
loved Grindhouse. Maybe Paul will regale you with stories about the Cubs, and maybe
Matt will open his mouth and say something hurtful and stupid and regret it later.

Fondly,

Ruth \m/

NV Ultra Lounge, Normal - April 21, 2007

Greetings aging hipsters!

The buzz on the street is that Ruth Buzzy is going to be back in town April 21st at the NV Ultra Lounge (107 E. Beaufort St) in downtown Normal, IL. Our friends in Eva Hunter asked us to join them and how could we resist? They are making us play second because they don't want to follow our formidable live show. Kinda like The Who crushing the Rolling Stones at the Rock and Roll Circus back in 1969. So get your nap in before you come out and be ready to welcome our latest additon, Jim Kamp. His skills are so dangerous that the fresh faced college kids won't know what hit them.

Check out our myspace page at www.myspace.com/ruthbuzzyrocks for a new tune.

Buzzy at Hideout next Thursday y'all

Ruth Buzzy at the Hideout

People,

I'm declaring next Thursday, March 15 Official First Day of Spring. We got (more) new tunes, we're playing at the most (totally!) awesome place in town, we're (almost) finished with our new record, and we're playing with our friends Five Foot Nine who are (actually) having a record release party. And Thursday night is the best night of the week to go out. Time to see a rock show, dudes.

We go on early at 9:00. Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia.

Rock it,

Ruth Buzzy

p.s. Come listen to advance cut "Oh Yeah That's Right" on our newly-paid-attention-to myspace page.

We can't wait to have the music available to you all.

Sincerely,
Matt, for the band

  • Getrude and Otto - A cellist and guitarist from Chicago that make cool atmospheric music.
  • Bitchy - Blistering punk rock from this Chicago hybrid of Blue Meanies and NIL 8
  • Ruth Buzzy - That's us. We will represent with new tunes, random covers and a few classic Buzzy songs.

July 7 at Phyllis' Musical Inn

Hey friends!

Buzzy is playing Friday, July 7th around 11pm at Phyllis' Musical Inn, 1800 W. Division in Chicago.

We have been gearing up to play our friend Fuzzy's wedding at the end of the month so be prepared to hear a batch of fun cover tunes. Fuzzy is our gracious web host and you should check out his projects too at www.fuzzyco.com

A cello part and a guitar solo are all that's left to record for our latest CD. Lance Reynolds (he records us and does a darn good job too!) is out of town for about six weeks so we probably won't get this thing wrapped up until late summer. We are all very excited about the way the recording is sounding and can't wait for
others to hear it!

Thanks!

Matt

More on the April 21 gig

ruthbuzzy-april21.jpg

Hey all,

We're playing next Friday with the Dugout and The Mixing Height, both band friends and all around good Joes. We'll have several new songs, one of which is MATT MOLENAAR'S FIRST ROCK COMPOSITION FOR THE BAND. It kills. It smokes. Well worth the price of admission right there.

Many, many thanks for coming out to see us over the past Dog-knows how many years. That's love.

International Pop Overthrow is a conference series that happens in New York, LA, Chicago and elsewhere. Last year, the music was of consistently high quality, so there you go. At last years' showcase at Wise Fools Pub, Ruth Buzzy caught the ear of a music distributor and a couple of record labels and Mission Statement is now available worldwide. This year we've moved up to the venerable Schubas.
