January 2013 Live Shows

Drunk Monkeys - January 2013 Live Shows Promo.

For our Chicago-area fans (or fans who can get to the Chicago area) Jen and Erica are excited to tell you about two live shows coming up in January 2013. Remote fans shouldn’t worry, as we’ll eventually post the episodes we film at these shows. Local fans should note that we can’t (yet) send liquor through the internet.

On Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 8pm we’ll be appearing at Stage 773 (1225 W Belmont, Chicago, IL) as part of Chicago Sketch Fest. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased online.

On Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 5-7pm we’re having a party at one of our favorite bars, Watershed (601 N State, Chicago, IL — under Pops for Champagne). We’ll be celebrating the release of our 50th episode and filming a few new ones as well. We’ll have some liquors to share, but it’ll be a cash bar for getting your own (excellent) cocktails. Admission is free.

Drunk Monkeys - Episode 35 - Alaska Distillery Salmon Vodka (Live!).

It's the second review from Jen and Erica's live appearance at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival: Alaska Distillery Salmon Vodka. We're going to be taking a little hiatus now, steeling our livers for another taping of the Drunk Monkeys show. Follow us on Twitter (@drunkmonkeyshow) or subscribe in iTunes to find out when new episodes appear.

The Bakon Vodka episode we keep talking about.

Drunk Monkeys - Episode 33 - Live! Chicago Women's Funny Festival.

This is the first podcast episode coming from our live show at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. It's a little departure from our usual structure, as there's very little drinking except for shots of Malört and Girl that Jen and Erica do at the top of the show, but Jen talks about Disaronno and the origin of the show and it's funny. Next week, we have some actual reviews from the live show.

Episode 30 - Calvados Pays d'Auge

Drunk Monkeys - Episode 30 - Calvados Pays d'Auge.

Calvados Pays d'Auge Venerable is an apple brandy from France and, spoiler alert, Jen and Erica like it. Thanks to our friend Peter for the gift of the bottle.

There are a couple more episodes from this season and then we'll be posting the ones we filmed, live, this week at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. Thanks so much to all the friends and fans who came out to the live show and to the festival for hosting us.

Episode 29 - Bakon Vodka

Drunk Monkeys - Episode 29 - Bakon Vodka.

Jen and Erica try Bakon, the bacon flavored vodka. A Michelada, which Erica mentions, is beer, lime juice, and tomato juice. We like to substitute bloody mary mix for the tomato juice, for a bit of a kick.

Don't forget that this upcoming Wednesday is the first live Drunk Monkeys episode-taping, as part of the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. The show will be on Wednesday, June 6th at 10pm at Stage 773. Tickets to the show are $12 and available online at www.stage773.com and at the Stage 773 box office at 1225 W. Belmont Ave. If you can't make the show, the episodes will eventually be released online here, but c'mon!
