Shadow in the North is the second Sally Lockhart novel. The trope here is the mysterious deadly weapon. And I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but the climax of the novel was, to me, pretty dark. It was something of a gut punch and made me wonder how young of a reader these books would be good for.
