Since I had read Zero History out of order, I had to read Spook Country right away to get my brain in order. Spook Country features so very starkly the interesting combo act that William Gibson is performing. Half of the story is about a former singer researching locative virtual reality art for a supposed new magazine. The other half of the story is straight out of a (good) spy novel, with the remarkably hapless protagonist Milgrim being dragged along through by cliched spy-hunters. Do their stories collide? Duh.
