Earlier this year I created and directed a show for the Playground's Directors Series called Cinema 2.0. I'm pleased to announce that Cinema 2.0 will be part of WNEP's Around Midnite Series this year, so it will play the 4th Saturday of each month, at 12:15 or so.
(As far as I know, only one other Directors Series show has played anywhere after its Playground run. So, umm, yay for us.)
Our grand re-opening is this Saturday, September 27. We'll be doing Nancy Drew... Reporter, a 1939 black and white film starring everyone's favorite plucky girl detective.

Actually, several Directors Series shows have had runs outside of their initial Playground run. The first was Dinner for Six, directed by Jason Chin, which had an additional run at Improv Olympic shortly after it closed at the Playground. The next was Faces in the Crowd, directed by Peter Gwinn, which was revived at Improv Olympic several months after it closed its Directors Series run. It's Not Me, It's Me, made a festival appearance in Orlando (I think) with a smaller cast several weeks after it closed it's initial run at the Playground. It was later extended during the summer for an additional 8 weeks at the Playground. While not a traditional Directors Series show, Sybilization graduates have made many festival appearances using the Sybil form they learned in the workshop program at festivals like Single File and the Chicago Improv Festival.
