The Simpsons

We had a fun evening out for Tim Ryder’s birthday at Emporium, an arcade for adults with a great beer selection. I had a lot of fun playing all the games, especially the original Simpson arcade game. As I was feeding tokens in to Continue, and not feeling bad at all about it because I’m adult and have literally tens of dollars of disposable income, I realized that I could get the ROM for a MAME emulator and feed it dozens of imaginary quarters for effectively infinite lives. So, the next day, I did. It took me about $12 in imaginary money and just over 45 minutes to get through the whole game by myself, playing as Homer. Even with the crude art, by today’s standards, theres tons of fun jokes and Simpsons references in the background of the game.
