Rob Delaney is best known for his Twittering. I think, in fact, it’s required by law to say that. His Twitter stream, I should have said before you clicked on it, is often very, very vulgar. And he’s a stand up and his self-produced stand up special “Live at the Bowery Ballroom” is rather different sorts of material than his Twitter jokes would suggest (except, I guess, in that it is also often very vulgar). And now he’s written a memoir, Mother. Wife. Sister. Human. Warrior. Falcon. Yardstick. Turban. Cabbage.. It is only very occasionally vulgar. Delaney is frank but funny about his depression and alcoholism, but also gives us sweet stories of just growing up as a dumb young man.
